A modest percentage of those that suffer from Tinnitus, also suffer from Hyperacusis, or a sensivity to sound. Oftentimes, it may be expressed as phonophobia or a true sensitivity to environmental sounds. Our clinicians are trained in sound management in order to help patients overcome their intolerances to sounds.
One does not need to suffer from tinnitus to have tolerance issues to sound. Phonophobia, or an abnormal dislike of specific sounds is a common problem, even amongst those with normal hearing levels.
